Today on Truth and Reconciliation Day we honour the resilience, dignity and strength of survivors and their families. We also remember the children who weren’t able to go home and we will be wearing xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) orange shirts with the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ words wə ƛ̓iʔ tə steʔəxʷəɬ tə mək̓ʷ wet (All Children Are Important) in their honour. We encourage meaningful discussions about the history and legacy of the residential school system and its generational impact on Indigenous Peoples. Public commemoration of the tragic and painful history is important in the reconciliation process.hay ce:p q̓ə (thank you all)
